Bio
- I was cofounder and CEO at Savvy, a fintech company offering employees payment cards to buy their own health insurance. We scaled Savvy to $10s of millions in payment volume and expanded into all 50 US state health insurance markets. Savvy was backed by leading investors, including Y Combinator, Marc Andreessen, and the founders of One Medical and Indeed. After 3 years of rapid growth, the company was acquired by Take Command, the leading incumbent in the health insurance HRA space
- Prior to Savvy, I was the youngest-ever hire on TPG’s investment team (which is to say I had much to learn), where we led early rounds in Uber, Airbnb, Spotify, Box, Zenefits, and GreenSky. I was lucky to have a front-row seat observing the founders and teams leading these businesses through hyper-growth
- I am a first-generation American with the belief that there has never been a more opportune time or place to build. More here
Where I can help
Operational turnaround
- I led key pieces of the turnaround at Twitter, which Elon called that fastest turnaround in tech history
- Many startups and technology companies are experiencing a slow down in growth, putting significant pressure on their business. I can help with financial turnarounds, where the goal is restructuring the business, cutting costs, driving more revenue, or increasing cash flow
M&A
- I’ve been on both sides of M&A, running a successful sale process at Savvy and buying technology companies at TPG
- I can help you stand up a M&A process, pull together a data room, find and connect with buyers, and advise on tactics as you near a deal with an interested party
Founder sales
- There is no business without sales, yet there is a dearth of resources to help founders with no sales experience scale up
- I have experience with 0 to 1 “founding” sales and have led B2B sales and sales teams at Savvy (from 0 to $10m+ payment volume) and Primer (from 0 to $1m+ in ARR)
- I can help implement a sales process / early GTM tech stack, diagnose / optimize a part of your GTM that is creating a bottleneck, or coach a founder through sales conversations
Product / PMF
- PMF is the only thing that matters for pre-PMF startups, yet founders often fail to put in place enough process to be disciplined in finding the truth
- As someone who has made all the rookie mistakes, I can help build the right framework, remove bias from customer interviews, and serve as a sounding board during the chaotic time of PMF-finding
